Well, welcome to my little piece of the web. Please be patient with me, I am very much still an infant to the blogging world, so this site will be a work in progress. My goal is to build a site, a blog, filled with thought provoking, positive and uplifting stories and articles.
Is it just me, or has the news gotten so completely negative that it effects the way you feel about your future? Lately, it seems to have just sucked the “hope” out of people. I think my turning point was a year or so ago. While watching a particular 24 hour news channel, after about an hour or so, I noticed that the good mood I had been in all day was gone. While trying to figure why, after having a great day, I was now in a foul mood, it hit me….every single story during that time period was negative in nature. The economy is tanking with no hope, another company was going under, unemployment was going up, stories about Iraq/Afghanistan were essentially body counts….the list goes on.
So this site is my way, my attempt, to combat that. I want it to be a place where someone can go and read something positive, something that will help put even a small seed of hope back into ones life.
I welcome anyone and everyone to contribute. I only ask three things of the material: first, it must be clean, this is a “G” rated site, that goes for content and language. Second, it must be positive. It should hopefully leave the reader feeling better about the world after reading it than they did before. Finally, it must be true. Please, don’t make up something or even embellish a story to make it sound better. I believe there is still enough good things happening out there, we just need to look for them and be willing to share with others.
You can submit your story, article or link with brief synopsis in the contact area below or email to goodnews@methinkingoutloud.com and as long as it meets the criteria above, I’ll post it (well, at least the first two criteria, because lets face it, I can’t very well check the validity of every story…so I’ll leave that up to your own integrity).
